A Makeover for Magnolia House

Lots of exciting things are happen with my books, but before I launch into what I am about to show you, I want to tell about the new little extra I will be adding to all my Blogs in the next few months. We writers all need a little help from time to time and to this end, I will be adding to every Blog the opening sentence from a chapter of a book. Any author can be included. To do so, please leave your email address in the comments or visit my web site, to see my email address and email me...it's that simple!

My first opening sentence comes from Bagpipes & Bullshot by Janice Horton - Chapter One.... In a hamlet nestling within the hills of Southern Scotland, August sunshine filtered through the pine trees surrounding the old house known locally as Glencorrie, encouraging ivy and wisteria to climb the ancient walls, securing unstable chimneystacks, and binding together dangerously loose stonework.

Now to the news I am so excited to share with you.....my fabby new cover for Magnolia House.
As you know, along with my lovely editor, Jo Field we have re-edited and re-polished this book and now, thanks to Cathy at Avalon Graphics, my Magnolia House  has a new look. Magnolia House already has 11 x 5 star reviews on Amazon and it will still make you cry as well as give you that feel good feeling. Magnolia House will be re-published in October, of course I will be telling you all about the date very soon. So to the cover, I love it, but what do you think?

Oh Pauline! Having read and really enjoyed Magnolia House a while back, I can honestly say this is the cover that I would have picked! Whoever designed it obviously read your book first - it's a house anyone would fight to keep! Well done you!

Love the new cover! Author name in the same place and font as Sometimes it Happens. Even the title is similarly scribed.

I see the Pauline Barclay brand being launched in addition to a new and improved edition of Magnolia House!

Lovely cover, Pauline. I often wish I could have lovely covers for my books but they have to be dark and moody to suit the writing.

A gorgeous cover, attractive and appealing - lovely! It looks a bit like Devon - a valley with Dartmoor in the distance.

Hello Patricia, Thank you, I hope it will attract more reader :)

Hi Chris, it is lovely, the story is not moody, but very emotional!

Hello Margaret, thanks for stopping by. And yes, it is a real house in Redruth, Cornwall!

I love the idea of featuring a first line. That's all it takes to be lured in. I'm already wanting to read Bagpipes and Bullshot after that one line.

Love the new cover. I'm awaiting your launch date.

Oh yes, and Charlie and Mabel send furry licks to your doggies.

Great cover - really powerful and intriguing and would definitely make me want to take a look between the covers. Very best of luck with this - and your other books.
As a huge animal lover - may I also give you huge kudos for Waggy Tails - may it help to find happy homes for many pets.

I'm sure you will be inundated with requests from writers who'd like you to feature their first lines - please add me to the list! My book isn't published quite yet - but it soon will be!
