indieBRAG Christmas Blog Hop - A Chat with Santa!

Today, I am taking part in the exciting indieBRAG Christmas Blog Hop and I have someone not only special, but more famous than anyone on the planet and they have popped into my interview room for a chat. Believe you me I can’t get my head around how I managed this one!  So who is he? Well, you only get to see him once a year and that is if you are lucky or very good. He is famous for racing across the night sky in a sleigh with a team of reindeers, especially one with a very red nose. He loves to slip down chimneys and he manages to visit every home in just one night! So please welcome the mystery man himself, Father Christmas, also known as Santa Clause.

Now whilst you are helping yourself to glasses of Gluwien, I’m going to try and find out a little more about this celebrity…

PB: I’m going in straight here, are you real?

FC: *Chuckle* Well I’m here, but what  would you say about Jane Leonard in Magnolia House or Kitty Costain from In The Cold Light of Day, I won’t mention all the others, but are they real?

PB: *smiling* Mmm put like that I see your point and yes they are real! Of course this time of the year is very much for children, I know we are all big kids at heart and as much as I’d love to ask all the questions, I have brought along my three little helpers who want to ask you a few questions, so please say hello to Paige, Theo and Leighton.

FC: Hello you three, I hope you’ve all been good this year

Theo:  *Giggling* I thought you should know that already. So have I?

FC: *Clearing his throat and smirking* Mmmm yes you are right of course I know, and yes, you have been good, very good.

Leighton: *Leaning forward* I want to know how many mince pies you eat on Christmas Eve?

FC: *scratching his beard* Well, let me see. I normally find two in every house, so if you times that by all the homes I go to, how many do you think it would be?

Leighton: *Counting on his fingers* Enough to make you sick!

FC: *Stifling a chortle* You could be right there. Leighton!

Paige: *Hand up and waving* I’ve got a question, how do you go around the whole world in one night?

FC: *Smiling* I’m very lucky that my sleigh and reindeers travel faster than the speed of light so I can visit everyone in a fraction of the time anyone else can.

Paige: ‘My mum says when we’re late for school she has to travel faster than the speed of light to get us there on time. You ought to meet my mum.

FC: *Chuckling*  Yes Leighton, I see you have another question for me.

Leighton: *Giggling*  How fat is your tummy and do you get stuck a lot when delivering presents?

FC: *Rubbing his rotund tum*  I’ve only got stuck once and that was not down to my tummy, but down to Rudolph, he fell down the chimney and jammed us both in. Thankfully his large hooves helped him climbed back up and we got out.

Leighton *Smirking* Our cat, Bubble Gum did that once. His paws didn’t get him out, but they brought all the soot down and everything in the room was covered in black except for mum’s face it was red with anger.

FC: Goodness, I’d better watch out for Bubble Gum when I visit on Christmas Eve

Paige: How do the elves make all the toys in time?

FC: *Taking hold of Paige’s hand* They work very hard and the workshop never closes, it is open 24 hours a day seven days a week. When some elves are sleeping others are making toys and that is why there is enough for everyone.

Paige: *Nodding* I hope so, because last year some elves must have slept too long because my mummy didn’t get what she’d asked for we just hope the elves will make sure she gets it this Christmas.

FC: I hope so too Paige.

PB: Father Christmas you’ve made it a magical Christmas for four people and we hope you will be making it a truly, happy, peaceful and magical Christmas for everyone else too.

Thanks, Pauline, for the very informative peek into the psyche of that notorious character, Father Christmas. I'm sure he seems more real to all of us, now.

Happy Christmas to you and your delightful children.
