A Warm Glow

When I set out to write Serendipity, I had a story in mind that would be easy, light and pure escapism. I certainly escaped from the madness of our world for several months when writing it and from the beautiful reviews received, I think readers have escaped too.

The latest review on Amazon says everything about what I had planned. Thank you so much Phill F. for your beautiful words and for taking the time to write a review.

This is the latest five-star review on Amazon

5.0 out of 5 stars Feel-good read, very enjoyable

This book will give you a warm glow. It's very gentle and the main characters are appealing. They're cleverly drawn, because without describing them in detail Pauline Barclay brings them alive, so that within a few pages you feel you know them. Craig, the middle aged retired policeman and Roo, his 19 year-old assistant, are delightful. There's mystery, disappearance, an unexplained death, even missing shoes, and you wonder how all these spinning plates are going to land. That they do, naturally and easily, is due to skilful storytelling.
If you want a book that is happy, easy to read, and that will take you away from COVID, the climate crisis, drowning migrants, fuel prices, sleaze, and all the other nasty things that are going on at the moment, this is it.

Serendipity is available in paperback and Kindle

As always, thank you for stopping by. I am working hard on book two to make sure it will match the standard of book one.

Have a fabulous day and I hope the sun is shining on your face and in your heart.

Hugs

Pauline x
