Beautiful Markings!

The weather this last week as been most strange on the island, heavy rain, even hail with large chunks of ice, a cold wind and heavy leaden skies. Temperatures dipped to 13c in our garden for a daytime temperature, unheard of. This time of year we should be around 21- 22c and the rain mostly finished for the winter. But I did not only want to share my weather report with you, but these two amazing photos. The rainbow, I took this morning after returning with the dogs. If you look closely you will see it is a double rainbow. We saw the same again late afternoon when walking the dogs!

This photo I took this morning as I walked out of our friends villa, a large cricket, soaking up the few sun rays of this morning. The beautiful markings and colour.

I clicked out before typing in the verification word... duh!

I was saying how strange your weather has been. Ours is fairly sunny, but cold and pretty typical for this time of year.

Love the cricket.

Oh, Pauline, I had so hoped to see bright, sunny skies (as there are none here yet in Virginia and wanted to know if the sun really existed) so was quite surprised by your terrible weather. I mean, wow! You were hit hard. Hope there wasn't any damage. The beautiful rainbows and clever cricket gave heart that all's well.

Hello Debs, fingers crossed we will be back to normal tomorrow or Thursday, I feel so sorry for those who have come on holiday...they want real warmth and sun, but pleased to hear you are having sunshine...you deserve it. Big hugs x

Hello Kittie, it is very strange the weather, but as I write, the temps are already rising, 17.4c... at 19:30 Hopefully the sun will shine tomorrow. For us that is why we live here, but for those on holiday, they need it. Sending some rays to you....Hugs xx PS glad you liked the cricket, it was a surprise seeing him!

We actually had a gorgeous day here too - but not in the same temperature as yours! We got up to 5C. Sounds odd but it was so warm & bright & sunshiney! No crickets though! :)

Hi Jemi, glad you had a 'warm'day. It is all relative. The island is around 70 miles of the Morocan coast, so we don't expect to be cold! Thanks for stopping by. x

That cricket is scary. Could just be the way you've taken the photo but it looks like a monster cricket! Glad to hear it's warming up again there. It's still freezing in the UK.

Hello Ros, it was quite a large cricket around 4inches long....! Hope it warms up soon for you. Hugs x
