Here
it is very hot, too hot most of the time as we have had calima’s this last week…
phew!
But
not withstanding the hot weather, I took part in the 10km Barranco del Quiguere
on the 1st August. It was a cliff top / ravine run and I have never
done trail runs before, so it was a first for me and I admit it was tough, but
I finished and I wasn’t too upset about my time. And before you ask, yes I
would do it again!
These
days I love running as much as I love writing and I find both challenging in
different ways, though they both have one thing in common; success is measured
in thousands: metres and words!
On
the words success this week I received, on Amazon, a wonderful five star review
for In The Cold Light of Day and like my running, it took my breath away at how
the reader immersed herself into the story so much that she did not want the book
to end. In fact she sited that as a fault… you can see below why…
I'm afraid that’s
about it for today, so I’m away to continuing pounding my keyboard with my
latest WIP, A Sense of Shame and then onto the pavements in my trainers.

Risking
it all for the thrill, 10 Aug. 2015
By
Eileen Schuh "Author THE TRAZ & "Schrödinger's Cat""
This
review is from: In the Cold Light of Day (Kindle Edition)
The
only thing wrong with Pauline Barclay's novels is that they end. I fall in love
with her intense characters and want to move in with them and love them, scold
them, support them and live with them forever..then the story ends. It's not
that IN THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY ends poorly, all plot lines are nicely wrapped
up. It's just that Barclay always promises her characters a future and...I want
to be there with them. This is a wonderful story about a gambling addiction and
the effect it has on the gambler and his loved ones. If you've ever wondered
how someone could risk it all for the thrill, here's how. I recommend this
novel to all those who love stories centred around the human heart and mind.
A
BIG thank you for stopping by and you know I very much appreciate seeing you here. Have a
great day and keep smiling, I will if you will.
