Blurb for Drumbeats:

Sometimes you need to escape to find yourself. It’s 1965 and the air is hot with the sound of the Beatles, love and freedom. 18 year old Jess flees her stifling English background for Ghana, West Africa.  But it’s a time of political turbulence and what she finds is danger, civil war, tragedy and romance. Why do the drumbeats haunt her dreams? And can she ever really escape?
