Visiting PBHQ this week, is award winning author and landscape photographer, Liz Martinson. Please help yourself to a glass of bubbly and make yourself comfortable and meet my lovely guest.
Liz Martinson has a Master’s Degree, and has gained a distinction from the University of Lancaster after completing a one-year Creative Writing course. She has a background in teaching and Special Needs Education, specialising in Literacy Support. Her twin sons having left home, Liz lives in the beautiful North Yorkshire Dales with her husband and two cats, and enjoys a variety of interests, such as walking, cycling, kayaking, triking and landscape photography. In her books, she loves to describe the beautiful countryside of Great Britain, which she knows well, and has received specific praise about her descriptions of this countryside in her books, with people saying “they could see it”, “they felt they were actually there” or simply that “they loved it”. Her knowledge of outdoor activities has led to praise for some of the scenes in Ullandale, specifically the mountain rescue, and has also fuelled other scenes in both Counterpoint and Takeover.
An avid reader, Liz
has written several novels and short stories. Of the short stories, one was a
runner-up in the Good Housekeeping Short Story Competition, and the others have
been accepted by her new publisher, Next Chapter, to form an anthology . Three
of her novellas have been published in charity anthologies in aid of Breast
Cancer.
She has four novels,
Belonging, Ullandale, Counterpoint and Takeover, available on Amazon as e-books,
paperbacks and hardbacks, and all are available in KU. These are contemporary
romance with life events, some drama and tension being very much a part of the
stories.
Now she has been accepted by Next Chapter as one of their authors, Liz has committed to revising Ullandale, Counterpoint and Takeover, although the storylines won’t be changing. She has also had other novels accepted by the publisher, as yet unfinished, which will be issued within the next couple of years.
Her latest book, Belonging, is a story of a woman betrayed by her husband, a man whose goodness makes her suspicious, and a precious daughter.
“After top journalist and soon-to-be single mother Liz meets Marc, a reclusive star of stage and screen, they find themselves deeply attracted to one another.
When tragedy hits Liz's estranged husband and
her small daughter, Liz will need to learn to trust Marc not only with her
heart, but with the life of her child.
But will they ever belong to each other and
find happiness?”
There are some very good reviews for all Liz’s books on Amazon.

i find Liz’z books uplifting because if you are in the middle of the doldrums or going through an especially difficult time, her books take you out of yourself. They are so engaging with well drawn characters and I find her a perfect solution when i need to find some smooth water for a few hours.
Thank you April for stopping by. Have a lovely weekend. Pauline
