Of course, I would like to see my latest book selling better, but it is selling, so not the end of the world
And I really would like to get my head more into the latest book that I am writing, which by the way has a working title, Maddison's, but despite many attempts only a few hundred words make it to the keyboard. In fact yesterday I deleted far more than I wrote, but it is not the end of the world!
This afternoon I ate several chunks of chocolate, I try not to do this as I feel I am fat enough, but I fancied chocolate! But adding a few extra kilos is not the end of the world, well having said that, I'm not too sure!
So why am I mimsie? I don't know, but just wanted to share my mimsie days with you....thank you for listening.... Phew I do feel better already....laugh!

I've never heard the word mimsie before but having read your blog I know what you mean by it. You're absolutely right. None of this is the end of the world but sometimes, when it all gathers together, it feels like it. I felt your spirits sinking the minute they said your new floor would have to be dug up. Like you say, it's only a floor. I wonder if maybe a few days break from the wip might help?
By the way I'm loving your book Sometimes It Happens. I've not finished it yet as we've been away for the last two weekends and I'm having BIG problems with the Kindle. I'm feeling very old and can't get my head round it.
I hadn't heard of it either but know what you mean - we all get those days don't we? Hope you're feeling better now!
There's nothing wrong with eating chocolate, being uninspired to write much and generally feeling 'mimsie' (a new word for me too!!), especially considering what's going on with your villa!
I'd be doing exactly the same if it was me.
I hope you feel better soon, Pauline. Go on... have a few more pieces of chocolate!
X
Hi Pauline - that's a new word for me too but I see what you mean by it. The answer of course is that these things pass - but in the meantime the answer IS a bit of chocolate and probably a bottle of something nice too and, while we are at it, why don't you go and get yourself a lovely hot stone massage or something? Time to be nice to Pauline is on the agenda! Oh, and do take a couple of days away from the writing, you'll come back stronger for it. So what if you put on a couple of ounces - you can take take the dogs for a run down the beach when you feel all better lol!!
Janice xx :)
Hello Ros, Flowerpot, Suzy and Janice I said when I had written my Blog I felt better, and my my I do now having read your fabby comments. The big choc bar I bought is well nibbled through, the wine rack looking a little empty, but so what. Thank you for cheering me up. Have a fabby day and smile, I will :) Hugs xx
Deleting is good for the soul I find. It means you know it isn't right yet, a frustrating stage but necessary. When it falls into place you will be off and running. I recall you hitting a similar patch when you were writing Sometimes It Happens ... and look how that turned out! Digging up floors and mess isn't easy to cope with, I'm surprised you can get anything done at all......
Hey - add me to the list of ladies who have learned a new word from you today. And it's a good one at that! So smile and thanks for the gift!
Hello Linn, you are right, we all delete long before we get to the end...words that is...laugh! Nice to see you. x
Hi Patricia, glad you like the word. I think it is perfect word for feeling....well mimsie! x
I'm another learning new words. And I love it. Mimsie. I shall use it often. ;)
I've certainly had days - many days - when I've deleted more words than I've written. I've had days when I've eaten far too much chocolate too. Still, no kittens died so it doesn't matter. The books get written and chocolate is good for the soul. ;)
Hi Pauline,
Life's a balance; we have to go through bad times sometimes to get to the good ones.
As for writing, I've had bad evenings when I've deleted and on occasions even lost work via a system failure. If that happens I've always felt better writing has come out of it.
And as for chocolate, I gave a friend a box for her birthday the other day and wanted to put a chocolate related quote on the gift tag. I looked on line and the perfect thing came up. 'A world without chocolate is a world without sunshine.'
Hope all the positive comments have a done a little good and made you feel better!
Hello Shirley, glad you love the word Mimsie, my friend always used this word when she was feeling, well mimsie...! As for the writing, it will get there...laugh! x
